Membership

Once you have completed your initial beginners course you will be invited to become a member of the Pembroke Fencing Club. We offer group lessons to beginners and intermediate fencers. The sessions are structured and include warm-up, footwork, blade work, and free fencing.

To become a member of Pembroke Fencing Club you will need to pay a one-off joining fee of €25 followed by the annual subscription once you start training. The joining fee is applied to the first term’s Membership Fee. This fee includes a club T-shirt. It requires completing a membership application form and paying the membership fee shown below.

Fencers from other clubs are more than welcome to attend Club Nights as guests, provided that they pay the “per session” fee shown below.

All fencers, both members and non-members, must have a Fencing Ireland competition license valid for the current season, available here.

Equipment Rental for adults is €5 pay as you go, (no rental fee for beginners and intermediate courses).

Equipment rental for children is €40 for the term or €80 for the year. A refundable deposit of €100  is required.

Annual membership is from September to May. In Summer the club is closed.

1st term is from September to December and the 2nd term is from January to May.

The club is closed on Halloween from 30th October to 5th November; Christmas break is from 18th December to 6th January, February midterm break is from 12th to 17th February and Easter break is from 24th March to 6th April.

Gear Rental

*If you get a PFC membership then you must have within 1 month your own set of fencing equipment for your personal use or you can pay the rent of €5 per class or €175 per year

**The fee payable for the beginner’s course includes 8 weekly lessons with the club’s coach and equipment.
Please note that all fees are non-refundable.

Training – Pay on the night

Anyone is welcome to visit the club on any training night. Whether simply in the area for a while, or a beginner who wants to try the sport out please feel free to come along and train with us. The non-member fee for training is €20. (Guest fee does not include equipment use, otherwise, you are a beginner).

Equipment usage fees

Members and non-members, other than beginners and children, who use club equipment, must pay fees. Please note that any equipment that is broken during the hire period must be replaced.
